Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the binders created by University Advancement for different events on campus. These binders contain
University Advancement is in charge of promoting Weber State University, helping alumni stay connected with each other and the University, and raising funds for the University, its departments and organizations.
The annual John and Telitha Lindquist Family Summer Pops Concert and Fireworks, also called the Symphony Pops, is an event sponsored by the Lindquist Family that started in 1978 and is free to the public. This concert is performed at the Ada Lindquist Plaza, also known as the Duck Pond. The concert is performed by an orchestra playing both popular and classical music. The concert is held in mid-July.
The Summer Picnic is a school sponsored event for faculty and staff of the institution, held during the Ogden Pioneer Days Celebrations in July. The "Opening of School" breakfast is held for faculty and staff the week before the start of Fall semester. The speakers generally include the University President, a member of the Student Association Executive Branch, and a member of the Board of Regents.
Commencement is the graduation ceremony held at the end of each semester to present students with their diplomas.
