October 8, 1976 Dear Wes, Many thanks for your letter of October 6 and the sentiments that it contains. You may be interested in a copy of a memorandum which I sent to the employees. The last paragraph is in keeping with your thoughts, and certainly there are many individuals and groups that are entitled to their share of the credit for the great success that Utah has attained. Subsequent experience has confirmed your view that the Construction group were entitled to great credit, and probably more credit than they generally received, in furthering Utahs development as a mining company. It is also true that you personally made a very great contribution to Utahs growth as a mining company a view I have acknowledged in public as well as to you in private. All of your old friends in Utah will be pleased to know of your return to the Bay Area and to your new residence in Belvedere. Best regards always,
