CROWDS GATHER SATURDAY TO WITNESS ""T"" FLAG CEREMONIES
Civilian employees at the Depot were allowed the afternoon off from work last Saturday to participate in the open house and attend the ""T"" Award Flag ceremonies. Major General Kenyon A. Joyce made the presentation. Over 6,500 visitors were present. (Story on page 3)
TWO SOLDIERS WHO DISCARDED SLAYER ARE AWARDED
General Talbot presented medals to two soldiers, members of the Military Police, at a ceremony in the Quartering Area last night at 5 o'clock. The award was made by direction of President Roosevelt for their splendid conduct when they disarmed Autin Cox, Jr., in July, slayer of four persons.

ITAlIAN PRISONER OF WAR DIES AT WAR CAMP
Nicola D-Augento., 21, Italian prisoner of war, died at the Internment Camp Post Hospital last Friday at 3 p. m. from a heart attack. He had been an internee at the camp since last April. Funeral mass was held at the prison camp compound at 6:45 a. m. Saturday morning, with the entire prisoner personnel at that camp in formation. Chaplain Frederick H. Chase, Jr., 1st Lt. Chaplain Corps U. S. Army officiating. The body was taken to Fort Douglas for military burial.
QMSS PLANS PICNIC SUNDAY
Military and civilian personnel of Quartermaster Supply Section will attend a Sunday picnic at the Meadows, in Ogden Canyon, beginning at 3:00 p. m. September 5th. Plenty of busses will be available to take all personnel, leaving Lester Park at 2:30 p. m. Barbecue Beef will feature the menu. Outdoor games in the afternoon and an evening campfire program are listed among the chief pastimes. Major Barr will be Master of Ceremonies in the evening.
FALL FLOWERS BEAUTIFY DEPOT GROUNDS
Various kinds and colors of attractive fall flowers are growing in profusion along the driveways and in front of the Administration building at the Depot, Employees' coming to work in the morning and leaving in the evening reminded of the pretty picture the flowers make on the grounds. Too, the touch of cool fall weather we have been experiencing the past week makes life after all most pleasant.
