Homecoming Day See Grads Return to Weber Campus Nearly 200 former Weber college students returned to the campus and the old memories it possessed Friday, October 24, to give the college one of its most successful homecoming celebrations. The annual event, designed to keep college memories living, started with the homecoming assembly in the Moench auditorium on Friday and continued through the day with banquets, parades, and rally, and was climaxed with the homecoming dance in the college ballroom. Assembly Held Highlights of the morning assembly were furnished by Dr. Henry Aldous Dixon, president of Weber college, with an amusing series of memory sketches, and by the crowning of the Homecoming queen, Carol Huss, and her two attendants, Shirley Chambers and Bonnie Scott. The football team were the recipients of a beautiful cake presented by the Whip club, with Bonnie Parker making the presentation. Humorous acts put the cap on the assembly, which was followed by a snake dance and pep rally in downtown Ogden. Parade Tours City A large homecoming parade toured the city during the afternoon, 25 organizations participating with floats. The annual alumni banquet was held at 530 pm in the college cafeteria, with the college music department furnishing entertainment for the many former students in attendance. Blaine Corey was toastmaster for the event, and E. Ray Wilkinson, alumni president, was in charge of the affair. Game is Highlight. Highlight of the day was the Weber Compton football game in Ogden stadium Friday evening. Whip clubs precision drilling and judging of the floats occupied the half time. Taking prizes for the best floats were Excelsior, Viking, Phoenix, Otyokwa, La Dianaeda and Sigma Delta Pi, in that order. The day was climaxed by the homecoming dance in the college ballroom, over which the homecoming queen and attendants presided. Hawaiians Capture College with Island Color and Spirit.
