LAW OFFICES CHARLES W. WEST EDMUND G. VAUGHAN 32 NASSAU STREET NEW YORK
October 6th, 1900.
Hon. David Eccles,
Dear Mr . Eccles:
Under the press of matters since my arrival here T have been unable to forward the bonds to the Ogden Rapid Transit Company under our contract of September 26th last until to-day. I do not get very much credit for this sale as my clients feel that it is a very low price. However, I can, as I stated before, only act upon my own judgment and I am sure it is best for you and perhaps best for them. I herewith enclose you letter I am sending the bank in regard to our contract. I trust you will see that same goes through without any delay.
I have had the bonds of the Water Company duly certified and the mortgage executed and forwarded to the receiver at Salt Lake, so that in a very short time I will expect to hear that you are in possession of the Water Works system.
I wish you would have the Rapid Transit Company write me a letter to complete my files to the effect that it has accepted your assumption of the $20,000. which I was to furnish and that all oblig¬ations on the part of the Ogden Electric Railway or its associates are cancelled. With best wishes, Very truly yours,Edmund G. Vaughan
