Dear Brother:-
I returned from Oregon a few days a go after an absence of over three weeks and found your letter of April 18th. I feel to thank you and President Smith for the consideration you have given me and the intrests I represent. It is true Brother Geddes holds a prominent position in the business a Baker City, and since Brother Nibley retired from that branch, Brother Geddes is the only one who represents me at that place during my absence, and while I do not know at present who could take his place, yet, I do not feel that I wish to stand in the way of the progress of the work and if you see fit to call Brother Geddes on mission I will get along the best I can without him when the time comes.
Brother Geddes is Stake Superintendent of the Sunday Schools and has a pass it enables him to visit the different wards without expence to the Stake, which benefit of course will cease with him retiring from the Presidency.
While I may be put to greate inconvenience by losing the services of Brother Geddes, especially in view of present labor conditions which makes it almost imposible to operate our mills atall, being comply to use Japs and any other labor that we can get. I feel that none of these reasons are sufficent to appose a proper call for a mission.
