As to the sheep industry there are about two hundred thousand head on this Desert and Sulphur or LUND is the central point at which most if not all of them would be sheared if suita ble facilities were offered. If we got, say one hundred thousand and the clip averaged five pounds which is a light average and the rate to Milford was 25 cts and this is what the sheep men with whom I have talked are willing to pay this one item of freight alone would bring us $ 1250.oo besides attendant freight and passenger business incident thereto. Open wells can be had in the vac-inity of Sulphur to water sheep from at a modearte cost, several being now in operation. The water in some cases is rackish, but ggod eneugh for sheep.
