With the growing population of Ogden going eastward toward the mountains, the Ogden City School board contracted with Leslie Hodgson to design a school building at 26th Street and Polk in 1926. For the cost of $68,000 and a construction time of less than a year, Polk School was built. The school taught grades third through eighth and had an active curriculum.
