Sufficient blue denim jackets and trousers were obtained...but no blue shirts. With two oil drums from the Depot Salvage yard...the first dyeing plant was set up 15 May 1942. A detail of thirteen Italian prisoners and one Italian non-com. officer, under the direction of Lt. Walsh formed the enthusiastic personnel, who, for ten months conducted a surprisingly successful "Tintoria."

Archived TIFF images were scanned by Jamie Weeks at 300 dpi with an Epson Expression 10000XL scanner. Digital images were reformatted in Photoshop. JPG and PDF files were then created for general use.
