We couldn't get enough help at that particular time so my father heard about the German prisoners that were over at the depot so he arranged to have them come. . . . The job of the men was to take all the feathers off, you could just pull off the big feathers, and then after that they would take it into another area. . . . They were real cordial and real nice to be around. They worked hard and we were happy to get them to come and help us.
