Business at the Crossroads - Ogden City, is a project to collect oral histories related to changes in the Ogden business district since World War II.  From the 1870s to World War II, Ogden was a major railroad town and shipping and commerce hub.  After World War II, the railroad business declined, but some government agencies and business related to the defense industry continued to gravitate to Ogden.

Edward Murphy shares his memories of Ogden, including theaters, hotels, trains and passengers, the trading industry, and 25th Street. He also shares a poem he wrote describing his experiences as an infantryman in World War II. The interview took place on July 20, 2013.

Michael Nash shares his memories of Ogden and 25th Street. From 1959 to 1968, Nash lived in the Lyceum building on 25th with his family. The interview took place on July 26, 2013.

Flora Ogan discusses her experiences working for the Standard-Examiner for 40 years, and her knowledge of 25th Street. The interview took place on August 7, 2013.

Joseph Prantil shares his family memories of Ogden and 25th Street. After his grandparents immigrated to America from Italy, they were involved in business at the Utah Hot Springs and a soda fountain on 25th. During prohibition, his grandfather was arrested for bootlegging. The interview took place on July 17, 2013.

 

Mike Schlosser discusses his grandfather, George Earl "Cowboy" Baldwin, who operated a barber shop at the Healy Hotel during the 1930s. The interview took place on August 14, 2013.

Margaret Spurlock shares her memories of Ogden and 25th Street. She discusses the Orpheum Theatre, the White City Ballroom, the 24th of July parade, and elevator operators. The interview took place on August 29, 2013.
