World War II: All Out for Uncle Sam

The World War II "All Out for Uncle Sam" oral history project contains interviews from veterans of the war, wives of soldiers, as well as individuals who were present during the war years. The interviews became the compelling background stories for the "All Out for Uncle Sam" exhibit. The project received funding from Utah Division of State History, Utah Humanities Council and Weber County RAMP.

The following is an oral history interview with ElDean Norseth. This interview was conducted on August 22, 2017 in her home in South Ogden, Utah, by Lorrie Rands. The first interview was conducted on November 15, 2016, and the second interview was conducted on November 18, 2016 by Lorrie Rands. The third interview was conducted on December 9, 2016 by Michael Ballif with Lorrie Rands as the video technician.

In this interview, Zach discusses his grandfather-in-law's experiences serving in the United States Army during World War II. They discuss his grandfather-in-law's journals and Zach's experiences transcribing and translating the journals from short hand.
