Weber State University Brick Wall

The Weber State University Oral History Program began conducting interviews with key Weber State University faculty, administrators, staff and students, in Fall 2007. The program focuses primarily on obtaining a historical record of the school, along with important developments since the school gained university status in 1991. The interviews explore the process of achieving university status, as well as major issues including accreditation, diversity, faculty governance, changes in leadership, curricular developments, etc.

Karen Lofgreen discusses her experience as a student at Weber State from 1951 to 1953 and then her career at Weber State University from 1979 to 2005 as a professor in the Teacher Education department.  The interview took place on May 9, 2014. 

 

Kathleen Lukken discusses her career at Weber State University from 1976 to 2009.  Lukken served as faculty in the Health Professions department and as Associate Provost for the University.  The interviews took place on January 27, 2010 and February 16, 2010. 

Helen James Lundak discusses her experiences at Weber State University from 1971 to 2000 as a Chemistry professor. The interview took place on December 14, 2007.

Judith discusses her career at Weber State from 1983 to 2011 in the Teacher Education program. The interview took place on May 17, 2013.

The following is a recorded class lecture with guest speaker Dr. Mildred Miya, conducted in October 2004, for Dr. Shannon Butler and her English 1010 students. In this lecture, Dr. Mildred Miya discusses her life, her memories, and her experiences in the Topaz Internment Camp, in Delta, Utah.

Stephen Nadauld discusses his experience as President of Weber State College from 1985 to 1990. The interview took place on November 11, 2011. 

Michael Palumbo discusses his career at Weber State University from 1982 to 2013 as the Director of Orchestral Studies and Professor of Viola. The interview took place on April 18, 2014.

Peggy Pierce discusses her experiences working in the Stewart Library at Weber State University from 1977 to 2000. The interview took place on November 11, 2011. 

Julie Rich discusses her time spent at Weber State College as a student, from 1977 to 1981, and then throughout her career in the Geography Department from 1986 to 2013. The interview took place on October 30, 2013.

Spencer Seager describes his 50 plus career at Weber State University as faculty in the Chemistry department. The interview took place on July 15, 2011.
