Weber State University Brick Wall

The Weber State University Oral History Program began conducting interviews with key Weber State University faculty, administrators, staff and students, in Fall 2007. The program focuses primarily on obtaining a historical record of the school, along with important developments since the school gained university status in 1991. The interviews explore the process of achieving university status, as well as major issues including accreditation, diversity, faculty governance, changes in leadership, curricular developments, etc.

Gordon Allred discusses his career at Weber State from 1963 to 2011 as a professor of English. The interview took place on March 7, 2014.

Sally Arway discusses her career as a Librarian at Weber State University from 1962 to 1991. The interview took place on November 5, 2007.

Mae Baker discusses her recollections and experiences with Weber State University and her father, Aaron Tracy, who was principal from 1922 to 1935 when the institution was Weber College. The interview took place on April 11, 2007.

Ora Jean Belnap discusses growing up in Weber County, her time at Weber College, and her experiences with the Dee School of Nursing. The interview took place on August 26, 2008.

Thomas R. Burton talks of his time at Weber State University as a professor of English. He also held administrative positions, including Vice President for Academic Affairs, and served several terms as president of the Faculty Senate. The interview took place on March 11, 2008.
