Ogden (Utah)

Jane S. Morrin discusses her time spent at the Dee School of Nursing, and her later volunteer work with the Red Cross. The interview took place on October 3, 2008.

Hope Carol Kohler Mortensen recounts her time as a nursing student at the Dee School of Nursing, and her later experiences participating in a nursing strike and working on the bone marrow transplant unit. She also discusses her observations of nursing attitudes and responsibilities over the years. The interview took place on March 16, 2009.

Jeane Baker Morton discusses her time as an instructor at St. Benedict's School of Nursing from 1948 to 1957. The interview took place on September 13, 2010.

Arlo Mueller shares his experiences as a veteran in the Marine Corps. Mueller voluntarily enlisted in the Marines in 1942 and served in World War II with the Marine Air Squadron as a guard and an anti-aircraft machine gun operator. After separating from the military in 1945, he became a member of the Ogden Fire Department from which he retired in 1968. He then worked as a fire inspector at Hill Field and retired in 1975. The interview took place on March 12, 2013.

 

Edward Murphy shares his memories of Ogden, including theaters, hotels, trains and passengers, the trading industry, and 25th Street. He also shares a poem he wrote describing his experiences as an infantryman in World War II. The interview took place on July 20, 2013.
