Students in a Classroom

The Weber State College/University Student Projects have been created by students working with several different professors on the Weber State campus. The topics are varied and based on the student's interest or task for a specific assignment. These oral history assignments were created to help Weber State sutdents learn the value and importance of recording public history and to benefit the expansion of the Weber State oral history collections.

Drysdale, Joseph

Joseph Drysdale shares his experiences joining the Army when he was 16 years old in 1916 with his parents' permission and encouragement from the Ogden, Utah mayor. He discusses being sent to the Mexican border for the Mexican Revolution and serving as a bugler in France during World War I. The interview took place on December 16, 1974.

Orlen Francis Fackrell describes moving from Eaton, Utah to the Bridger Valley in Wyoming with his family while a young boy. He discusses his life in southwestern Wyoming, homesteading, his service in the Army during World War I, and his work on the railroad. The interview took place on October 28, 1976.
