The Weber State College/University Student Projects have been created by students working with several different professors on the Weber State campus. The topics are varied and based on the student's interest or task for a specific assignment. These oral history assignments were created to help Weber State sutdents learn the value and importance of recording public history and to benefit the expansion of the Weber State oral history collections.

John Bushman discusses Indian scouts and guides, whom he calls “immigrant Indians,” the subject of his master’s thesis. Although he seems well-versed in activities of the Delaware Indians, he seems somewhat confused in grouping them with the Kickapoo and especially the Shoshone. The interview took place on May 19, 1972.

Dr. Walter Buss discusses his time at Weber State College and his experiences as head of the Geology-Geography Department. The interview took place on March 13, 1973.

Ara O. Call describes conditions in the Mormon colonies in Colonia Juarez, Mexico, in the early part of the 19th century, the Mexican revolution, Pancho Villa, etc. He also discusses the polygamy practiced in his family, and his father's experiences with General John Pershing. The interview took place on September 9, 1971.

Jack Card discusses law enforcement and his experiences with 25th Street. The interview took place on February 27, 1971.

Gary R. Chambers discusses his experiences as part of a large Mormon family. The interview took place on August 2, 1980.

LeeAnn Chambers discusses her experiences as part of a large Mormon family. The interview took place on August 24, 1980.

 

Lionel Chambers reflects on his growing up years in Eden, Utah during the 1920s, his military service during World War II, and his fathering of an LDS family of 11 children. The interview took place on August 24, 1980.

Marva Hale Chambers discusses her experiences as the mother of a large Mormon family, and her memories of working in the LDS Church Office Building during World War II. The interview took place on August 3, 1980.

Randy Kent Chambers discusses his experiences growing up in a large Mormon family during the 1950s-60s, and his education. He talks about playing competitive sports and the personalities in the family. The interview took place on August 24, 1980.
